Al-Qaida
Al-Nouraniya course is essential for learning how to read the Arabic language,
especially the Qur’an for non-Arabic speakers. The course adopts a gradual
curriculum that begins with teaching the learner how to pronounce the Arabic alphabet
correctly, then gradually moves to reading whole words, then full sentences and
finally some Qur’an verses.
The
course focuses on building the learner’s vocal skill to start correctly and
avoid common mistakes. It combines theoretical explaining with extensive practice
and one-to-one follow-up.
The
curriculum is based on clear, purposeful graduality that matches individual
differences among learners.
1.
The alphabet and the basic harakat:

Learning to
write the Arabic letters alone and within words.
·
Learning the
makharij and sifat.
·
Pronouncing
each letter with the three basic harakat (fat’h, damm, kasr).
·
Training on
pronouncing the letters and receiving immediate feedback.
2.
Mudood and tanween
·
Differentiating
short and long harakat.
·
Understanding
the types of mudood and how to pronounce them.
·
Practicing
the pronunciation of mudood.
·
Reading
two-letter syllables and three letter words.
3.
Sukoon and shadda
·
Understanding
sukoon and the correct way of pronouncing letters with sukoon.
·
Understanding
shadda and practicing reading letters with shadda.
·
Training on
connecting letters and reading compound syllables.
·
Improving
fluency and minimizing stress and hesitation.
4.
Practical reading
·
Reading full
sentences correctly.
·
Reading
specific verses of the Qur’an.
·
Applying the
acquired pronunciation skills.
·
Taking a
final test and getting feedback.
By the end of Al-Qaida Al-Nuraniya course, the learner should be able to:
• Pronounce the Arabic letters correctly.
• Read words with harakat fluently without hesitation.
• Recognize mudood, tanween, sukoon, and shadda.
• Read full sentences in Arabic correctly.
• Recite chosen ayahs from the Qur’an correctly.
• Acquire a strong base to take advanced classes in reading and tajweed.
Ismail S. Rajab is a specialized instructor in teaching Arabic and language skills to non-native speakers, as well as a teacher of the Holy Qur’an, its sciences, and proper recitation (Tilawa and Tajweed) in both Arabic and English. He also trains learners in Arabic conversation with a strong focus on practical application and fluency.
